Clinical trials for pig-to-human transplant are inch closer

US FDA agreed that human clinical trials are needed to test the pig-to-human transplantation safety and efficiency. In 2021, genetically modified kidneys were transplanted in legally dead individuals in a test which shows that the kidney functioned normally )at least for 54 hours, the period of the test).
