MRI findings expose multiorgan lesions in COVID-19 hospitalised patients months after infection - Copy

A UK-wide study, comprising post-COVID-19 MRI findings, reports that approximately 60% of hospitalised patients in 2020/2021 presented abnormalities in several organs 6 months after being infected, in comparison with 27% of patients who had never experienced the condition.

Surprisingly, scientists found out that the prevalent affected organs were brain and lungs, and insignificant lesions were found in patients’ hearts, which debunks the previous research regarding the negative effect of SARS-CoV-2 on cardiovascular performance.
